My Vast Knowledge

Our first Knowledge Bowl meet of the season was yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised with our results. We ended up with only two teams competing, and both performed strongly in the written round, one receiving 49 out of 60 points and the other, 45. Both teams remained within the top 3 rooms throughout the meet (our #1 team was actually in room 1 for the entire meet). The questions in the oral rounds were more government-related in this meet than any time last year, which was great seeing as 4/5 of my team for the meet is in challenge government right now. In the end, my team placed 6th, just 2.5 points behind a 5th place medal. The other team placed 2nd, just 5 points behind the winner (Loyola). I still think the Fairmont meet is always rigged due to the fact that their teams always either a) win, or b) do eerily well. At yesterdays meet, all three of Fairmont's teams placed in the top 5 (3rd-5th, to be exact). Creepy, no?

Next meet:
Blue Earth Area Blizzard Invitational
(hosted in Mankato)
