It's a hard knock life....

Last night was a freakishly great time spent in Mankato with some amazing friends. After getting done with work at 4:15 (I did about 80% of the stock from the day's truck by myslef and still managed to get out of there only 15 minutes late), I came home and showered up for some disk golf. Brice stopped here, and we went out to pick up Tommy. It was starting to sprinkle a little bit, but we figured we could at least get one round in before the heavy rain came. As we were walking to the ninth tee, it got pretty heavy. We all brought towels and extra clothes (we'd make good Boy Scouts [like Kyle Hart]), and after Tommy found out he could bowl with us we headed to Mankato.

The rain was insanely heavy, and we could hardly see the road until we got through Winnebago. After that, the sky cleared up; we only had a few sprinkles the rest of the way to Mankato. We went straight to Scheel's for Tommy to check out some golf disks. No need to call Mariah when we got there seeing as she was already in the store looking at golf clubs. Amy met us at Spencer Gifts, and we all headed to the alley at about 9:00. We stood inside waiting for Chris and Shayla, then decided to get ourselves two lanes and start some sweet cosmic bowling.

In the lane 1, it was Mariah and myself (Nate and Emily would show up about 10 minutes later), and Brice, Tommy, Chris, Shayla, and Amy were all in lane 2. We were able to win a free pizza because we had the largest group of people (nine), and later we won three free games of bowling and "beer/pop." We also got moved to lanes 7 and 8 because lane 1 kept resetting on us. Amy, Chris, and Shayla all left about the same time, although I can't remember what time that actually was. After that, we started somewhat of a challenge. Nate, Mariah, and myself took on Tommy, Brice, and Emily in a best-of-three showdown. They won the first game by two pins, and we pretty much dominated the final two games. We all finally left about 12:45, and it was a fun ride home. I wish all of these folks would be around next Thursday for another game, but very few of us are free that night. Maybe something will happen....who knows?....
